During decades entertainment has been something
essential in our lives. RAE´s academy defines entertainment, as something that
it lets us have a fun time. According to this, firstly, the essay tries to
analyze the main contents of the interview in order to know more about the ways
of entertainment. Secondly, explain the importance and influence of
entertainment in education. And finally, evaluate the changes in the ways of
entertainment around the History.
After the interview with my father,
Constantino, I was interested in analyze the results because it was satisfying
for me.
Firstly, he told me that children since they
were younger spent the majority of the time playing in the park and in the
street where they developed collectives games with kids of different ages and
they shared their toys because children had not many.
Continuing with the interview, he told me some
anecdotes, for example, he had his first bicycle with ten years old, and for
him it was one of the best day of his life, moreover he spoke about a car´s toy
that he had when he was four or five years old and he remembered so good since
for him was special during his childhood. According to this, I consider that
kids of that time valued more the toys than nowadays.
But, in the project I looked like essential to know
the labor of parents in the ways of entertainment of their children. Then, he
told me that fathers usually worked and mothers had to clean the house, do the
cooking and take care the kids. As a consequence of this, parents only played
with children during the weekend where they developed games, as ludo, domino or
monopoly. Also, they played with them when they were to the village, in Easter
and summer, and here moreover, they played with other children and they did
different things than in the city; they played with the animals of the farm,
they swam in the river and so on. In this time families usually went to the
village because it was the cheapest place.
Secondly, in reference to education, both
things are in relationship. Education influences in entertainment and
entertainment in education. It is a two-way street. According to the
interviewer he said me that children of this period of time had less homework
that nowadays and they could spend more time playing in the street. Besides
entertainment influences in education, it is an important part that schools
tries to promote because it is necessary to the development of the child.
Moreover, it is important to take account that the games in the streets and in
the park, they contribute to the development of sports, then, sports were
something relevant in the ways of lives of this time.
Thirdly, in reference to the evolution in the
ways of entertainment, children nowadays understand entertainment as a
different way; children have more toys than in the middle of sixties and early
seventies. Moreover, they develop more individual than collective games, for
the increase of technology development, and children spend less time playing in
the street and in the parks than in a past since the street is more dangerous,
and they have more homework, and in a consequence of this, less time to play
and to practice whatever sport.
Finally, to conclude with the project, I would
like point up that entertainment is an important aspect that everybody should take
account. Especially we as future teachers because entertainment is necessary
for the complete development of the students.
